Self/Buddy Aid

November 19, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 11:30 pm

Free

FREE CLASS!!!!

You will learn the essential skills necessary to save your life or the life of another before an ambulance can even be dispatched and when possible, remain capable of protecting yourself and others. We will cover Direct Threat Care, portions of Indirect Threat Care and Evacuation from the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Course (TECC). You will learn application of medical treatment in the concept of what you already know and do as a police officer. Prioritizing actions is critical in the direct threat care environment by balancing potential risks and benefits of casualty treatment when an active threat is present. By learning to stop the bleeding with a tourniquet or proximal pressure you can buy yourself more time. We will cover proximal pressure, tourniquet application, wound packing, maintaining an airway with a NPA, drags and carries and loading a casualty into a law enforcement vehicle.
