SUMMARY:Traffic stops workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will allow students to work on the skills needed to survive a deadly force encounter on traffic stops. We will cover approaches\, communication and reaction to threats. There will be a classroom/lecture portion followed by live fire exercises around/in and from vehicles. \nEquipment list: eye/ear pro\, 300 rounds of ammo\, duty belt\, pen/paper\, willingness to learn. \nLocation: APD training facility 12251 Rockhill NE Alliance OH \nInstructor: Joe Weyer\, \nJoe began his career serving in a Special Operations Unit in the Army in the late 1980s. He had a strong desire to bring his knowledge and experience from the military to the public so he became a police officer with Alliance Police Department and received training from some of the best instructors in the United States and abroad. \nOperationally\, Joe has participated in and led over 300 critical operations from protective details to high-risk warrants to barricades. Joe is a state certified firearms instructor in multiple weapon platforms\, certified instructor through Homeland Security in several counter-terrorism topics\, as well as an NRA certified instructor. \nHe has taught hundreds of military personnel\, police officers (both domestic and foreign) and qualified citizens in various use-of-force disciplines ranging from basic and advanced handgun to carbine and shotgun. In addition to being a full time police officer\, Joe is the Team Commander of the city’s Special Response Team\, Region 5 Training Coordinator for the OTOA\, and the owner of his own private training business\, Weyer Tactical. \n

DESCRIPTION:Low Light Pistol: 6pm-2am\n**FREE** ($25.00 range fee only!!) \nCome and take a look into weapon and equipment manipulations in low/no light environments\, learn about human anatomy and how your eyes work in low/no light\, use the principles of light employment and movement that will occur both on the range and in the classroom. Low light myths and status quos will be challenged\, there will be shooting drills that incorporate threat identification\, adverse shooting platforms\, and weapon manipulation. \nEquipment List:\n-Handgun with at least 3 magazines (5 if single stack) and magazine pouch.\n-Holster must attach via the belt (paddle holsters are not allowed).
